The person allegedly presents himself as military personnel in a difficult or restricted situation. The scammer may first build emotional trust through regular communication and military stories. Once the victim becomes attached, urgent problems may begin to appear. Money may be requested for vacation, military leave, medicine, or release from a camp. These situations are designed to make the victim feel responsible for the person's safety or wellbeing. The scammer may promise that payment will allow them to finally meet or return home. Additional fees can appear after the first payment is sent.
