An online dating complaint describes a suspected romance scam involving someone using the names Aleks and Sasha, reportedly associated with Kazan, Russia. According to the report, the individual initiated contact through a gay personals website and began communicating with the recipient about developing a romantic relationship. The complaint states that the sender expressed romantic feelings quickly, creating the impression of a serious personal connection. As the correspondence progressed, the sender reportedly began discussing plans to travel internationally and visit the person he had met online. The proposed meeting allegedly became the basis for requesting financial assistance. The sender reportedly asked for money to cover visa arrangements and airline tickets necessary for the visit. The complainant identified these requests as suspicious and categorized the experience as a suspected visa and airfare romance scam. However, the original report provides limited information about the correspondence. It does not specify how long the relationship lasted, the amount requested, whether money was transferred, or how communication eventually ended. The available information also does not establish whether the person depicted in the accompanying photograph was responsible for operating the dating profile. This reported incident illustrates a potential romance fraud warning sign involving rapid expressions of affection followed by requests for financial assistance with international travel. **Consumer Warning:** Exercise caution when an online romantic contact quickly expresses strong feelings and then requests money for visas or airline tickets. Verify identities and travel arrangements independently before transferring funds.
