I am sharing this because I don’t want anyone else to go through the same experience I did. I came across a Facebook account named “Jane Hunter,” and at first, I genuinely believed I was talking to a real person. Now I realize I was dealing with a complete fraud—a manipulative scammer hiding behind stolen photos and a fake identity.

At the beginning, everything about the profile looked convincing. It showed a woman with polished, attractive photos and a profile that seemed normal on the surface. It claimed she lived in Pointe-Noire and was originally from Paris. The bio included emotional and personal details that made the account feel authentic, almost like someone who had gone through real-life experiences. But in reality, every single detail was carefully crafted to create a false sense of trust.

The conversation started in a completely harmless way. She was polite, friendly, and easy to talk to. Nothing felt suspicious at first, and that’s exactly how these scammers operate—they don’t come off as obvious threats. Instead, they slowly pull you in, making you feel comfortable and lowering your guard. Over time, the messages became more frequent and much more intense. It didn’t feel natural how quickly things escalated. She pushed for a deeper emotional connection almost immediately, which now I see was completely calculated.

Very quickly, the tone shifted from casual conversation to deeply personal topics. She began sharing emotional stories and struggles, trying to gain sympathy and create a bond. It felt like she was trying to force a connection instead of letting it develop naturally. At the same time, whenever I asked simple or direct questions about her life, she would either avoid answering or respond in a vague and inconsistent way. It was like dealing with someone who had a script but no real story behind it.

The photos on the profile were another major part of the deception. They looked almost too perfect—professional, polished, and unrealistic for an average personal account. The more I looked at them, the more obvious it became that they were not genuine. These were likely stolen images being used to build credibility. The personality behind the messages didn’t match the person in the photos at all, which made everything even more suspicious.

As the interaction continued, her real intentions started to show. The conversation slowly shifted toward financial problems and personal difficulties. At first, it was subtle—small hints about struggling or going through hard times. But eventually, it became more direct. This was clearly a setup. The emotional connection she tried to build was nothing more than a tool to manipulate and prepare for asking money or support.

When I took a step back and looked at everything more carefully, the entire profile started to fall apart. The timeline of posts didn’t make sense, there was almost no real engagement from friends or family, and everything felt artificial. It was obvious this wasn’t a genuine account built over time—it was something created quickly with the sole purpose of deceiving people.

Even the way she communicated started to feel fake. The messages often seemed repetitive, unnatural, and at times completely out of context. It felt like I was not even talking to a real person, but someone copying and pasting lines from a script. Whenever I tried to question anything or point out inconsistencies, she would avoid the topic, change the subject, or respond with unclear answers. There was no honesty—just constant deflection.

At that point, it became impossible to ignore the truth. This was not a real woman. This was a scammer running a fake account, pretending to be someone else, and using emotional manipulation to try and take advantage of me. The entire interaction was built on lies—from the identity, to the photos, to the stories.

What makes this even worse is how calculated and cold this behavior is. This person had no problem pretending to care, pretending to build a connection, and playing with emotions just to achieve their goal. There was nothing genuine about it. It was all manipulation from the start.

I strongly believe this account is completely fraudulent and is actively being used to deceive and target people. It is not just misleading—it is dangerous. Anyone who interacts with this profile is at risk of being emotionally manipulated and potentially financially exploited.

I highly recommend reporting this account immediately and cutting off all communication. Engaging with someone like this only gives them more opportunities to continue their deception.

This experience has made one thing very clear to me—scammers today are extremely convincing, but they are still liars hiding behind fake identities. If something feels off, it’s because it is. Trust your instincts, because that feeling can protect you from getting caught in something like this.
