Letter 1

Hello, my darling Eric! How are you doing? Thank you for your lovely letter. As always, it brings so much joy to my heart. Today, I'm heading to my grandparents’ village again. I always look forward to visiting them because I feel truly at peace in the countryside. My childhood was spent there, and the memories I have of that place are precious to me.
Unfortunately, life in the village has become harder over the years. My grandparents' home is not connected to the gas supply, so they have to heat their house with firewood. They also draw water from a well outside, and during the winter, they have to keep the stove going to stay warm. There are always many chores to be done, especially with their chickens and geese. Despite all the hard work, they never complain. They’ve lived this way their whole lives and are used to it.
Whenever I can, I try to help out. Each year, they plant different vegetables in their garden, and they make delicious pickles, jams, and compotes. My grandmother’s pickles are a true masterpiece of Russian cuisine, and I really hope one day you will have the chance to try them. She follows traditional recipes passed down from her mother. Today, my grandmother asked me to buy some seeds for vegetables like carrots, cucumbers, dill, parsley, and tomatoes. Since they’re cheaper in the off-season, it was the perfect time to buy them.
My grandfather recently bought firewood for the year. It comes in large logs that need to be sawn and split, so he asked me to help store it properly. I always make time to visit them whenever I can to lend a hand. Though their life in the village is tough, they never complain. I love them dearly, and I cherish every moment spent with them.
I hope I didn’t upset you with this story. You’re no stranger to me, and I believe you should know more about my life and my family. Now you have a glimpse of what life in the Russian countryside is like.

Hello, my love Eric! As always, I was so happy to read your letter. Thank you for everything you’ve shared with me. Today, I couldn’t stop thinking about our meeting. I decided to do some research to see how I can visit you, as the current global situation has made travel more difficult.
I’ve been gathering information about the necessary documents for traveling to your country. I found out that I need a passport, visa, and tickets – of which I only have my passport at the moment. I’ve already applied for a visa remotely at the embassy of your country. If my application is approved, I’ll have to visit the embassy in person for an interview and to provide a full set of documents. It may take several days for them to process my application, and I’m not sure if I will be granted a visa, given the current situation. But I decided to try anyway.
I’m sorry I didn’t discuss this with you beforehand. If you think it’s not a good idea, I’ll cancel it immediately. The decision now lies with the embassy, and there’s nothing I can do to influence it. By the way, the consular fee was 5850 rubles, which I’ve already paid. I’m waiting for approval to schedule my interview.
I also learned that there are no direct flights from Russia to your country due to sanctions. The only option is to fly through Turkey, with a layover in Istanbul. All of this feels so complicated, but I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make my dream of being with you come true. I can’t imagine staying here without you, and I don’t want to live in a world where we’re apart. I want to build my future with you, and I need you by my side!

Hello, my love Eric!!! I was so happy to receive your letter again. Each word we share carries such deep meaning, and our connection has grown stronger through our correspondence. No matter where I am or what I’m doing, I’m always thinking about our future together.
Darling, I truly believe that we’re meant to be together because our relationship is built on mutual love and respect. You have become my greatest goal in life, and I don’t want to lose you for even a minute. It may sound strange, but I’m ready to do whatever it takes for us and for our love. I’ve always dreamed of finding a man as wonderful as you, and now I know I’ve found him.
Every day, I ask God to watch over you and bless you, so that you avoid all troubles and hardships. You mean so much to me, and that’s the least I can do for you. Sometimes, it’s hard to put into words just how much I feel for you. That’s why I’m eager to be near you soon, so I can show you my love in person.
You often visit my dreams, and sometimes I wish I could stay in that dream forever. When I wake up, I feel a little sad because it was just a dream, but I hold on to the hope that we’ll meet soon, and we won’t need dreams anymore because we’ll be together in real life.
