I’m honestly pissed off writing this because what I thought was a normal interaction turned out to be a complete scam. The Facebook account “Ceci Alvarez” reached out to me, and at first, I had no reason to doubt it. It looked real enough—a woman in a U.S. Marine Corps uniform, a decent profile, nothing that immediately screamed fake. That’s exactly how they pull you in. I accepted the request, and almost immediately, the messages started. Friendly, polite, even a bit charming. It didn’t feel forced at first, which is why I stayed in the conversation. But looking back now, it was all controlled. The messages kept coming every day like clockwork—not too much, not too little—just enough to keep me engaged. It felt like someone was carefully managing the whole thing from the other side. She kept talking about her “life” in the military, being away from home, dealing with tough situations, and slowly pulling me in emotionally. And I’ll admit, for a while, it felt real. That’s what makes it so frustrating.

Then the tone shifted. Suddenly it wasn’t just casual conversation anymore—it felt like she was trying to fast-track some kind of emotional connection. It was way too quick and way too intense to be genuine. That’s when things really started to feel off. And then came the part that made everything clear—the money angle. At first, it was subtle mentions of struggling, not having access to things, needing help. But it quickly turned into direct requests for money, always tied to some emotional situation. That’s when I stopped and actually looked at everything properly. The profile barely had real interaction, the photos looked too perfect to be personal, and the whole story felt staged. I checked further and found out the images were stolen, which confirmed everything. There is no “Ceci Alvarez.” It’s just a fake identity being used to scam people.

What really annoys me is how smooth and calculated the whole thing was—nothing obvious at the start, just a slow build to gain trust and then push for money. I didn’t send anything, but I can clearly see how someone could get trapped if they’re not careful. At the end of the day, it wasn’t real at all—it was just someone pretending, manipulating, and trying to take advantage.
