I met Derek on Match. He claimed to be a marine engineer contracting with Exxon Mobile working on an oil rig off the coast of Maine. He claimed he needed some money to pay for equipment. I sent him $40,000 USD. It was supposed to be a loan, which I never saw paid back. It turns out he was working from Ghana and had taken money from other women.
