Scam Report

I am writing this report to explain a Cash App fake payment scam attempt. A reported Facebook profile using the name Charlotte Mason claimed she wanted to buy a bracelet and said she was trying to pay through Cash App. The scammer sent an image saying the Cash App username did not exist and asked for an email address instead. Later, the scammer claimed that the payment had already been sent and deducted from her account and told the victim to check the email inbox for a Cash App confirmation. The victim contacted Cash App and was told that no payment had been made. This is a common fake payment and account access scam where scammers use false payment screenshots to collect an email address, send fake confirmation messages, or trigger login and verification code attempts. Real Cash App payments appear directly inside the Cash App app and normally send instant phone notifications. Users should not trust payment screenshots from buyers, should not type in verification codes unless they personally started the login, and should verify all payments only through the official Cash App app.
