A historical online romance fraud complaint describes a man named Manny who reported losing approximately **$4,900 USD** after corresponding with someone using the names Anastasiya Golubina, Maria Evdokimova, and Julia. According to the published complaint, the sender communicated through romantic emails and repeatedly expressed affection while discussing plans to travel overseas and meet the recipient. The relationship developed through extensive correspondence, with Manny reporting that he received more than 100 letters. The complainant stated that the sender requested money for travel arrangements and continued requesting financial assistance even after receiving several payments. The published correspondence shows how the supposed travel plans were repeatedly disrupted by unexpected problems. In one email dated March 31, 2006, a person writing under the name Nastya claimed that money recently collected from a remittance had been stolen when someone snatched her handbag. She said the incident prevented her from proceeding with her intended travel arrangements. Another message dated April 12, 2006, claimed that medical problems had prevented the planned flight. The sender stated that doctors had advised against traveling and that part of the ticket payment had been lost through cancellation charges. By April 18, the correspondence included another request for **$480**, allegedly needed to complete the airline ticket purchase. The sender continued expressing love and promising that the couple would eventually meet. Manny's published account states that he had transferred approximately $4,900 and was still receiving requests for additional money. He also reported discovering similar photographs and correspondence associated with other names and recipients in different countries. The complaint includes details of Western Union transfers and describes payments collected in Cheboksary and Yoshkar-Ola, Russia. This historical account illustrates a suspected romance fraud pattern involving emotional attachment, repeated travel promises, unexpected emergencies, and continuing financial requests.
