Phishing Subscription Scam Scam Report
Phishing Subscription Scam Scam Report
Description :
I wanted to stream our grandsons football game and entered a link on Facebook from "Push-that-muscle.com" to pay a $1 trial period fee to watch the game. It had me set up a sign in with email and password and gave me a URL in order to stream the game. (7:04 pm) I attempted a few times to get into the link and find the game but never did. Once it congratulated me for my 1-day membership to push-that-muscle and that at the end of the 1 day my membership would be automatically renewed every month for $59.99/month until I unsubscribe. Well the email and phone number given in the email didn't work. The 2nd notice I received (9:42 pm) was that I had been given a 5-day trial period to sporty-goals.com. This time I was given a sign-on and password (which never worked) and neither did the website or phone number provided. Any questions reach them at...nope didn't work. The emails kept coming back as delivery incomplete. The email said this membership would be auto renewal at the end of the 5 days in the amount of $24.99 a month. Until I unsubscribe! I tried to do this and couldn't get into the account or site given.
These were two separate companies - 2 different addresses in CA; both providing me with something I never signed up for. I finally emailed a name that was in one of the emails and got a reply - but I had to threaten to expose this on Facebook (where it all started). The charge of $59.99 did make it to my financial institution that night but they held it and called me in the morning. They helped me stop it and any others that came through.
There was one more small charge of $9.98 to a dog shelter in Kentucky that came up too. Not sure how that happens.
