It also claims that customer support is available 24/7 at (864) 201-2609. This type of scam is designed to make victims believe that a Geek Squad or Best Buy protection plan has been renewed and charged to their account. Scammers use fake invoices, subscription renewal language, auto-debit wording, support numbers, and official-looking billing summaries to pressure victims into calling quickly. Once the victim calls 864-201-2609, the scammer may pretend to be Geek Squad support, Best Buy billing, a refund department worker, or a cancellation specialist. They may claim that the charge can be cancelled or refunded only after account verification.
