804-699-8892 - Verizon Cold Call Scam ? Verizon cold call scams are a type of phone and phishing fraud where scammers impersonate Verizon customer service representatives to steal personal and financial information from customers. These scams commonly occur through unsolicited phone calls claiming there are billing problems, account suspensions, suspicious activities, service upgrades, or special promotional offers linked to the victim?s Verizon account. Scammers create urgency by warning users that immediate action is required to avoid service interruptions or unauthorized charges. Victims may be asked to provide account passwords, credit card numbers, banking details, Social Security numbers, or one-time verification codes. In some cases, scammers request payments through gift cards, cryptocurrency, wire transfers, or mobile payment apps to resolve fake account issues or activate fraudulent discounts. Another common tactic involves convincing victims to click malicious links or install software that allows scammers remote access to devices. These scams can result in financial loss, identity theft, unauthorized account access, and stolen personal data. Warning signs include unexpected calls, aggressive customer service behavior, requests for unusual payment methods, suspicious caller IDs, and offers that seem too good to be true. Verizon does not request sensitive information or payments through unsolicited communication. To stay protected, customers should verify account issues directly through the official Verizon website or app, avoid sharing confidential information with unknown callers, and monitor account activity regularly. Staying cautious and informed is essential to preventing phishing attacks and financial fraud related to Verizon cold call scams.
