He told me he wanted to send me 147 grams of gold — said it was a gift, along with some investment paperwork. He claimed the gold was given to him by his commander, as if that made the whole thing sound more official. The story kept getting more elaborate, almost too perfect. But something about it just didn’t sit right with me. Why would someone trust me with that much gold, especially someone I barely know? And what kind of commander hands out gold like candy? The more I thought about it, the more the red flags started waving. It’s wild how some people think they can weave stories that glitter just enough to blind you.
