Reports :
I came across a profile on an online dating platform that immediately caught my attention. The profile stated that the member had been registered since 12 January 2015 and described themselves as a 48-year-old single individual. According to the profile details, the person mentioned that they were interested in a serious relationship, identified as Christian, and stated their sexual orientation as heterosexual.
At first, the profile appeared genuine and trustworthy. The information provided suggested that the individual was looking for a meaningful and long-term relationship, which made me feel comfortable engaging in conversation. Because the account had been active for many years, I initially believed it was legitimate.
However, after communicating with this person, I began to notice several suspicious behaviors. The conversations quickly became overly personal and emotional, even though we had only recently started talking. The individual seemed to push the idea of forming a serious relationship very quickly, which made me uncomfortable.
As the communication continued, I started to suspect that the profile might not be authentic. The way the person communicated felt scripted and inconsistent with the information provided on the profile. These behaviors raised concerns that the account might be part of a romance scam, where scammers pretend to seek a relationship in order to manipulate victims.
Because of these red flags, I decided to stop communicating and report the profile to prevent others from potentially becoming victims. I believe the profile may have been created or used with dishonest intentions, and I felt it was important to bring attention to it so that the platform can investigate further.
I am submitting this report from my perspective as a potential victim to ensure that appropriate action can be taken and to help protect other users from similar experiences.
