Svitlana, or Svetlana contacted me a few weeks ago. She mentioned that she is training to become a doctor. In her most recent message, though, she hinted that she had big news to report, most likely about an internship she had previously mentioned; however, this time she asked if there were any dental clinics near me.
I had seen this kind of scam previously, where the person writing says that she will receive an internship in the US, with all expenses covered. As the date of the internship becomes closer, she discovers the need to borrow some money for travel purposes. I have never fallen for this and sent money. I was curious to see when she would ask to borrow money. The Covid-19 situation has interfered with this scam.
She wrote most recently yesterday. When I tried to reply today, the mail system returned the message. Presumably, her email address is no longer valid. I would be happy to post some or all of her photos here if there is a way to do that. Even though we did not communicate long enough for her to ask to borrow money, I have found her photos and messages on other scam-reporting sites.

She initiated the contact in the end of July, expressing her wish to "meet a worthy person who needs love and support". After a few letters she revealed her plans to me: "I am not looking for a relationship in Ukraine because I plan to leave the country. and start a new life. Now my documents are being prepared, for my dentist internship in your country". She then discovered that she needed some 380 USD, to cover a debt. Without paying this debt she would not be allowed to go outside Ukraine, and she asked me for economic support.
