She told me she was an oil "expatriate" working in the nigerain oil fields fro Chevron, and that several of her co-workers had been kidnapped and held for ransom, she also stated that she had no cash, and that her account through chevron had been closed due to the kidnappings. in short she aked if I could send her $300.00 so that she would be able to change her plane ticket destination to come and be with me, I asked for her address in brooklyn and her passport numbers and she started to put me off, then asked if I would call her, ichecked the country code and it was 203 nigeria, so she was probably most likely there, but I was certain that she was scamming me, like not wanting to give details such as which hotel and room # in Lagos.
RipandScam has been fighting scam for over 15 years, saving millions of dollars for potential victims from scammers. However, the economic model of the anti-scam industry has been severely disrupted by large corporations, leaving us struggling to survive and even maintain our website. While dedicated anti-scam websites like RipandScam are fighting to stay operational, scammers continue to defraud people of millions.
