I suppose technically I initiated contact when I messaged her profile on rip scam . Eventually the correspondence moved over to personal email and lasted almost a week. I suppose I should have known it was too good to be true. The whole thing felt unusual but once the money got involved that nailed it. It started with $100 in iTunes cards as a gift. Then the next day she claimed her wallet was stolen and needed $3000 for food and to replace a shipping document for work. She recommended I send the money via money gram. If it wasn't for their anti-fraud warning page I might have sent it to her.
