Letter 1
Hi my dear Henry,
I’m so happy to receive your letter! Your words bring me so much joy, and I find myself looking forward to them more and more each day. They make me feel truly happy.
I’ve made a decision about my work in the clinic. I’m going to be a surgeon! Soon, I’ll be on vacation, and I’ll be working as the senior surgeon. I hope you're as happy for me as I am because being a surgeon is truly my dream job.
Today was a bit hectic. I was late for work because my neighbor, Klava, came to me in the morning. She’s an elderly woman, very kind and good-hearted. We help each other whenever we can. She had a problem with her door—it was broken and wouldn’t close properly. She lives alone, and after her husband passed away five years ago, no one has been there to help her. So, I went to take a look. Unfortunately, we couldn’t fix it. I’m not very skilled at carpentry (laughs). It turned out that the lock was broken, and we would need to call in a specialist.
Klava was really upset, but I tried to comfort her. She’s not in good health and it’s dangerous for her to get too stressed. She was supposed to be hospitalized, but she refused. Now, she has to get daily injections. I promised her that I’d get a carpenter to fix the door. There’s a man in our clinic who handles repairs, but he drinks a lot, though he has "golden hands," meaning he's very good at his work. I’ll try to ask him for help when I see him.
It’s very important to help elderly people, especially here, where they don’t receive much support. Pensions are small, and there’s no real social aid. Medicine isn’t free either, and the elderly have to spend all their money on medications. It’s unfair, and it makes me sad, but that’s the reality in Russia.
By the way, I don’t think I’ve told you about my diploma. I hold a European-standard diploma, which means I can work as a doctor in your country.
With warm thoughts,
Fati Fati
Letter 2
Hello my dear Henry,
Writing to you always makes me happy. I’m so grateful to have someone as close as you in my life. It’s a shame that you’re far away, but I hold onto the hope that we’ll meet one day. I believe that when we get to know each other even more, we will be excited to meet in person.
Marina asks me about you every day. I tell her that I’m always thinking about you. And the truth is, I think about you a lot, and I love reading your letters. I’m so glad that you understand me. You’re such a special person who truly cares about me.
I need to share something with you, Henry. I think that friendship is incredibly important in a relationship. Let me explain what I mean. Passion and affection are wonderful, but for a relationship to last, two people need to know how to handle daily life together. Do you know what I mean? I believe that the foundation of a relationship should be friendship. I want my soulmate to be my best friend. Emotional connection is key to ensuring both partners feel comfortable and supported in the relationship. What are your thoughts on this?
When I read your letters, I can sense your honesty and sincerity. You’ve shared so much about yourself, and I want to do the same. I have a dream—I want to find true love, someone who will love and care for me, and I will do the same for him. I want our love to last forever. When I meet that special person, I will give him all my tenderness, care, and love.
What about you, Henry? What’s your dream? What do you want most from life? I’m really interested in hearing your thoughts and dreams.
I know that many Russian men struggle with alcoholism. I remember when my mother and I had to build a fence around our house many years ago. My mother went to buy nails, and three men asked her what she needed them for. When they found out that a young woman and her daughter were trying to do it themselves, they came over and helped us. By the evening, the work was done. They refused to take any money, and we could only thank them by feeding them pancakes. Since then, pancakes have been my favorite food!
One of the men asked if we had paint to finish the job, and when my mom said she would buy it later, they returned the next morning with their own paint and finished painting the fence for us. We tried to pay them for it, but they refused, saying that the paint was leftover from their own work.
Yesterday, I was thinking about my future in the clinic, and I’m so happy to be doing the job I love. I don’t need to study anymore because I already have a European-standard surgeon’s diploma. But this month, I’m wondering what to do with my time. I don’t want to waste it, so I’ll figure out something meaningful to do. Of course, I’ll keep writing to you, but it won’t take up my entire day.
I’ve never thought it would be possible to find such a good friend through the internet, but now I can say I’ve met you. It feels like I’ve known you for a long time, even though we’ve only exchanged a few letters. I’m so grateful to have found someone who understands me, shares my dreams, and has similar intentions. You’re very dear to my heart, and I’m always here to listen, understand, and support you if you need it.
Alright, I’m finishing my letter now, and I can’t wait to hear from you soon! I’m always thinking of you.
Sending tender hugs and kisses,
Fati Fati
P.S. I wanted to tell you that I love riding a snowmobile in the winter and a motorcycle in the summer. Do you enjoy riding? I’m sending you a few small videos to enjoy!
