These scams often involve enticing offers, such as discounted shopping vouchers, travel vouchers, or gift cards for popular retailers or services. Scammers may contact victims through unsolicited emails, phone calls, or social media messages, claiming that they've won a voucher or offering it at a significantly discounted price. However, after the victim pays for the voucher, they either receive nothing in return or receive a fake or invalid voucher. In some cases, scammers may also use stolen credit card information to purchase legitimate vouchers and resell them at a profit. To avoid falling victim to voucher scams, individuals should be cautious of unsolicited offers, verify the legitimacy of the seller and the voucher, and avoid making payments or providing personal information to unknown or untrusted sources.
