833-711-4079 - Microsoft Virus Scam - The Microsoft virus scam is a type of cyber fraud where scammers use deceptive tactics to convince individuals that their computers are infected with viruses or malware. Often initiated through alarming pop-up messages, fake emails, or phone calls, these scammers impersonate Microsoft or affiliated tech support personnel. They create a sense of urgency by claiming that immediate action is necessary to remove the supposed viruses, prompting victims to provide remote access to their computers or download malicious software under the guise of virus removal tools. Once granted access, the scammers may install harmful programs, steal personal information, or demand payment for unnecessary services. Microsoft continually emphasizes that they do not initiate unsolicited contact to provide technical support or request payment for virus removal, advising users to exercise caution and rely on official support channels to address legitimate security concerns.
