818-446-9047 - Norton Tech Support Scam - The Norton Tech Support scam is a fraudulent tactic where impostors pose as Norton Antivirus technicians to deceive individuals into believing they require immediate assistance with their computer security. Typically initiated through unsolicited phone calls, emails, or pop-up messages, these scammers employ various tactics to create a false sense of urgency, claiming that the victim's device is infected with viruses or experiencing technical issues. They then persuade victims to provide remote access to their computers, where they may install malicious software, steal sensitive information, or demand payment for unnecessary services. Norton consistently emphasizes that they do not initiate unsolicited contact for technical support and advises users to exercise caution, verify the legitimacy of communication, and seek assistance through official Norton support channels to protect themselves from falling victim to such scams.
