408-418-4993 - The Roku scam involves fraudulent schemes that exploit the popularity of Roku streaming devices and services to deceive users for financial gain or to compromise their security. Scammers often impersonate Roku customer support representatives through various channels, including fake websites, phishing emails, or unsolicited phone calls. They may claim that the victim's Roku device is experiencing technical issues or that their account has been compromised, urging them to provide personal information or grant remote access to their device for supposed troubleshooting. Additionally, scammers may trick users into purchasing unnecessary services or subscriptions or clicking on malicious links that lead to malware downloads. To protect against Roku scams, users should exercise caution when interacting with unsolicited communications, verify the legitimacy of support providers through official channels, and refrain from sharing sensitive information or making payments to unknown parties. Keeping Roku devices and accounts updated with the latest security patches and practicing cybersecurity best practices can also help prevent falling victim to such scams.
