844-264-1836, 833-251-8087, 888-816-0639 - Apple Pay Call Center Scam ? Phone numbers reported as (844) 264-1836, (833) 251-8087, and (888) 816-0639 have been connected with a suspected Apple Pay scam, fake toll-free support scam, tech support scam, refund scam, and phishing attempt. The report states that all three numbers appear to be operated by the same large call center pretending to provide Apple Pay support. The scam evidence includes a suspicious PDF hosted on hesge.ch and an article-style page on talent.women-in-tech.org with Apple Pay help wording, which may have been used to promote fake customer service numbers through search results or misleading support content. In this type of scam, fraudsters target people searching online for Apple Pay help, payment problems, refund support, locked account assistance, unauthorized charges, wallet issues, or transaction disputes. Once the victim calls one of these numbers, the scammer may pretend to be Apple Pay support, Apple billing, Apple wallet support, a fraud department agent, or a refund specialist. They may claim that the account has suspicious activity, a failed payment, a blocked transaction, or a refund that requires verification. The scammer may ask for Apple ID login details, passwords, credit card numbers, banking information, gift card codes, one-time verification codes, or remote access to the victim?s phone or computer. Some scammers may also pressure victims to send money through payment apps, cryptocurrency, or gift cards. Warning signs include unofficial Apple Pay numbers, suspicious PDF links, multiple toll-free numbers from one call center, urgent refund claims, and requests for private information. Anyone connected with these numbers should not share details and should verify Apple Pay activity only through official Apple settings or Apple Support.
