This lady contacted me in the last part of october, referring to some previous mail exchange which is unknown to me. She hoped that "you and I get acquainted with each other, and it will develop into something more." In one of her next letters she expressed the hope that she would soon be able to go to my country. The well-known story of having won a so called grant came up: "But I also won a grant from several students in the competition, which includes paying for a visa and tickets, plus $ 12,000 for expenses during my stay in your country." In fact some of her letters were exact copies of letters I have received from other Russian scammers. In the further development of our correspondence it appeared that she needed 1500 EUROS to pay a bribe to some Russian checkpoint in order to have an exit permit. She had 900 USD herself and desperately searched for another 600. It came as no surprise when she finally asked me to help her..
