Scam Message:
Mariia Drachuk is a known romance scammer who typically operates through online dating platforms and social media. She lures her victims by creating fake profiles, often portraying herself as an attractive and affectionate individual seeking a serious relationship. Once she establishes an emotional connection, Drachuk fabricates various crises or financial emergencies, manipulating her victims into sending money. Her tactics are designed to exploit the emotions and trust of her targets, leaving them financially drained and emotionally devastated. Authorities and cybersecurity experts advise caution when interacting with individuals online and to verify the authenticity of profiles to avoid falling victim to such scams.
This woman got in touch with me. She claimed that she had been given a grant to study in the UK by her (Ukrainian) government, but she needed to get of out Ukraine first. Long story, but eventually she made it to Warsaw, where she got a British visa. I reported this to the various authorities in the UK, including the Ukrainian embassy. She has two passports, one in the name of Drachuk (with the UK visa in it) and a second one in the name of Mariia Harbaruk. Her UK visa expired in March of this year, though I suspect she may still be there.
