A 57-year-old man from Emmaus, Pennsylvania, has lost more than $62,000 in a cryptocurrency scam, according to state police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Pennsylvania State Police in Fogelsville reported that the man realized on July 15 that he had been duped. The scam involved a fraudster posing as a well-known cryptocurrency investor and entrepreneur, convincing the victim to provide financial information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The scam began in October 2023 through a Google Workspace chat and continued until early April, as stated in a police news release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During this period, the victim received what he believed to be legitimate assistance in setting up several bitcoin transactions. Over seven months, he invested a total of $62,115.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When the victim attempted to access the funds, he discovered that all the money was gone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
