MADISON (WKOW) \u2014 When people knock on our doors, they’re doing it with a wide variety of intentions. Some of those intentions aren’t all that savory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SINGAPORE: The Singapore Police Force on Tuesday (May 16) issued a warning against a phishing scam involving the download of a fake ScamShield mobile application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ScamShield application, launched on iOS in 2020 and on Android in 2022,\u00a0checks incoming calls against a list maintained by the police to see if the number has been used for illegal purposes and blocks it. Read more<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Psychic scam victim loses $47K<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A Houston woman fell victim to a self-proclaimed psychic who allegedly scammed her out of almost $47,000 over three years, according to court documents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The victim found an advertisement for psychic services on social media and contacted Theresa Sher Evans, who identified herself as \u201cTanya.\u201d Read more<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
